Pelosi just made a move that has many scratching their heads…
According to Rep. Steve Scalise, Nancy Pelosi has turned down a proposal to offer COVID-19 testing on Capitol Hill.
Now why on earth would she do that?
Saturday on “Fox & Friends Weekends,” House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) revealed there had been a proposal to implement COVID-19 testing on Capitol Hill but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had turned down the offer.
Scalise verified a claim made by Rep. Rodney Davis (R-IL), who earlier voiced his frustration with Pelosi’s unwillingness to implement a testing regime.
“Congressman [Rodney] Davis is exactly correct,” he said. “These protocols have been out there and the testing capabilities have been out there for a long time. They were offered to the Speaker and she turned it down. And I think it’s something that should have been in Congress.
This is a very curious decision by Pelosi, especially considering that quite a few GOP officials have tested positive for the virus, many of whom are on the Senate Judiciary committee.
Senators Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Mike Lee of Utah both announced Friday they had tested positive for COVID-19, followed by Senator Ron Johnson, who said Saturday he had tested positive as well. Their positive test results followed the news that President Trump and first lady Melania Trump had contracted COVID-19.
Both Tillis and Lee are members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is set to start hearings on Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett on October 12, which is 10 days away. Both Tillis and Lee said they plan to quarantine for 10 days, instead of the recommended 14 days. Neither gave a reason why they had chosen 10 days, but it would allow them to attend the hearings.
Of course now with all of these GOP officials and Trump testing positive for the virus, Schumer and other Dems are now demanding that Amy Coney Barretts confirmation be called off.
What do you make off all this?
